Here is an inspirational leadership service video from spiritsclip.com that ought to make your day that much better. As I have stated on this blog several times, leadership can be demonstrated in a number of ways. And leadership always comes down to relationships.
The best kind of leader is the one who is willing to give more than he or she might have, as the humble and grateful man in this video demonstrates.
These kinds of videos inspire me to be a better leader and servant to my family, friends, employees and strangers. How about you?

Other Lite Friday Leadership types of Videos that you might enjoy.
I had to share this video. I have personally endured a number of trials and set backs in the last three years, but one lesson I have learned is that attitude is everything. How many of us can maintain a positive attitude through difficult challenges and the irritations of life? It's not easy, but we can do it.
Leaders of course have an important responsibility to maintain a positive outlook through difficult times. Sometimes it just requires a smile and a little humor. Please share your thoughts on this fun video and then smile. And then pass it on and help someone else smile :)

Once in awhile you come across a story that truly touches you, moistens your eyes and really, really, inspires you. Here is the video of a man by the name of Narayanan Krishan; one of the CNN heroes of 2010. I would like to share his video with you.
I have said on this blog that leadership starts with the individual. It is about relationships, it is about service, it is about love, it is about caring. By serving the ONE, leaders ultimately are able to inspire and lead the masses. Narayanan is one such leader. I am very grateful for leaders like Narayanan.
Question for the day? How does what Narayanan does apply to you as a leader in business, your home, church or wherever ever else you might lead? I would love to hear what you have to say by commenting below.

I hope that many of you have had the opportunity to read the powerful story that is told of Mahatma Gandhi I posted recently. If not you can find it here "My Favorite Leadership by Example Story Ever - Powerful." What we do is more important than what we say as leaders as Gandhi demonstrated. Whether we do wrong, or whether we do right it is noticed.
I would like to share with you a powerful video I posted in October of 2009, as a follow up to this recent story of Gandhi. This video demonstrates the power of how our parenting by example can adversily affect our children. As Gandhi demonstrated we can also lead by good example as well with positive results.
Do you know of leaders that ask one thing, but do another? What kind of affect has that had on their organizations or teams? Please comment below. Thanks.

As we end the year I thought it would be appropriate to post my top five leadership videos for 2010. Each of these has inspired me in some way to become not only a better leader, but a better person.
On a personal note I want to thank the thousands of you who visit my blog month after month. 2011 is going to bring more great stuff on Teamwork and Leadership Bloggings. Here's to a great 2011!
#1 Here is my number one pick. This video probably had the most impact on me as a leader this year. If you haven't seen this you have to watch it. May we all become more positive in 2011!
#2 My number two pick has to be the touching love story and tribute to the legendary coach John Wooden who passed away this this year. There were many who knew him who walked away wanting to be more like him. He was a legend of a leader. May we all work on becoming better people in 2011!
#3 Leaders come in all forms. This video is at number three because of the touching example of one young man who had an affect on an entire school by caring about someone else. May we all serve one another more in 2011!
The thought that comes to me as I watched the powerful video below is that leadership is sometimes a one on one thing that has the potential to affect literally thousands of people, maybe even millions.
I was deeply touched by the leadership a young man by the name of Charles Steadman demonstrated and an entire student body embraced when a young woman by the name of Savannah, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, was voted Homecoming/Inaugural Queen.
Leadership is so much more than the corporate towers of big city's and the rotundas of politics, it is about heart. Leadership is about caring. It is about serving. It is about influencing and affecting people's lives forever in a positve manner. It helping others feel they are valued and important.
"I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: The ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve." ~Albert Schweitzer

I have always believed that if you don't truly care about those you lead you shouldn't be a leader. Great leaders care. Great leaders serve. It is so easy in life to overlook the human side of things. The best leaders really try to understand people. We can be quick to rush to judgement, talk negative about others and become impatient and annoyed. But great leaders take a breath and realize that each of us our human and our challenges are uniquely individual. And with the right approach people can respond in very positive ways.
Sometimes people just need someone to listen to them. Other times they just need a little understanding and a sensitive act of service. I love this video (you can find it below) and wanted to share it my readers. I believe it can transform the way you look at things as a leader. It has already had a large impact on my thinking.
It is a little "cheezy" to start, but please stay with it. The message is absolutely positive. It's really about service leadership. We need more understanding leaders; more compassionate leaders who want to lead because they care. When you are done watching the video please let us know what you learned from it by commenting below. Thanks, and I hope it has an impact on you.

Part of my mission and goal of this blog is to bring inspiring and moving examples of leadership. There are very few more inspiring than John Wooden, who passed away Friday at the age of 99. And there are very few leaders in this world that I personally 100% aspire to be like - John Wooden is one of them.
The term leader is used loosely. Leaders leave legacies of integrity, caring, love, giving back more than they took and inspiring others to do the same; they have purpose and sustaining value. Leaders leave an impact on the things that matter most, not how much money they made or worlds they conquered. John Wooden was a leader in the purest definition.
In tribute to this inspiring leader - John Wooden, here is a glimpse and tender video into what mattered to him most, his love affair with Nellie Riely Wooden, the love of his life.
