It’s not so much about winning as it is about doing your very best. Legendary basketball coach John Wooden said that he use to tell his players that whether they were outscored by their opponent or they outscored their opponent, if someone was watching them after the game they shouldn’t be able to tell who outscored who. That’s because what was most important was doing their best. The results will be what they will be, but if they made their best effort then they could be proud.
On teams, where each team member is concerned and focused about doing their very best, the result will normally be great. It is up to the team leader to inspire individuals to do their best for the sake of the team. To pull out of each team member their very best. I thought you might enjoy these insights and more from John Wooden in this very special video.
