Leadership often times has nothing to do with intentionally leading people. Some times its sole purpose is to inspire. I have found this to be the case many times when children are leading.
Children have a great capacity to care; and in this video not only care, but inspire as well. As you watch this clip of these kids leading out on behalf of one of their own, I think it is important to reflect for a moment on the impact they are having on others in their school.

And of course the impact they are having on each other can’t be overlooked either. As one student in the following video tearfully states, “I kind of went from somebody who mostly cared about myself and my friends to caring about everyone and trying to make everyone’s day in everyone’s life.”
When kids get the opportunity to do something nice for others they can’t help but have something very positive happen in their own life.
What are we doing in our schools and homes to help children recognize the opportunities that are there to serve and lead out? I believe there are many of them. We can share videos like the below with them. We can tell stories. We can also find opportunities and guide kids towards them.

Our future depends on great leaders. Now is the time to prepare our children to become leaders that care, leaders that inspire and most importantly; leaders that make a difference.
Question: What are you doing to help prepare young leaders? What have you seen others do?
