Gossip at work and evil speaking of others is not only unfair, but a poison that teams and organizations can’t afford to swallow and forget about. We would all be wise to stop the spreading of gossip, rumors and evil speaking of others dead in its tracks. Here is a great story I heard the other day.

For many of us the greatest leader in our life was our mom. Mothers care, and they lead like it. They do so with love, by example and with courage. Mothers are often our primary developers, nurturers, teachers, coaches and support. Abraham Lincoln said it best when he said “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” It is my opinion that a mother’s care is Heavens model of leadership.

As a Service Desk manager, I had over 50 agents answering phones. I had observed that our customer service stats were trending down. I talked to my first line managers and they shared what they thought. However, the trend continued.

Have you ever had a leader who said they would do one thing, but did another? How did you feel about that leader? Did he lose some credibility and trust in your eyes? To do what you say you will do is fundamental to your integrity as a leader. But how often do you see leaders do the opposite?
