Here is a video on teamwork (or lack of) that I really enjoyed. Pay particular attention to the two guys on both ends of the stretcher. Watch them collaborate and then drop this poor guy.
I love parades, especially in the small town I live in. It is fun and you can get lots of free candy at my towns parades. All you have to do is wave like crazy and yell. The more excited you are the more candy you get from each of the floats. It is like Halloween in July! It is especially fun to observe people’s behavior at parades. The first few floats were greeted with great anticipation.
I think Friday’s are a good day to post something a little more lite, but still related to teamwork and leadership in some sort of odd way. So here is a video that you are sure to get a chuckle or two out of. Do your team projects mirror the work of this team of guys sometimes? Check out the video.
When I was a kid I use to ask my parents why I had to do “stupid” Algebra. The only answer I ever remember was “because.” “Because” I would ask. “Yes because,” was their reply. If my parents had instead said because it will help you become a better problem solver, improve your chess game, make you more intelligent and finally if you take enough of these algebra classes you may never have to take another one ever again I may have been catapulted into algebra delight. However, their response had the opposite effect.
I love it when people take accountability. Whether it is my kids, friends, umpires or leaders, I love watching people do the right thing because it is the right thing. Taking accountability for one’s actions builds huge trust dividends. Do you think feelings of trust and respect for Joyce have improved across Major League Baseball? Absolutely! It’s interesting how when we try not to cover up our pride we become people of character that others genuinely love and respect.
