Voicemail Etiquette Leaders

An area of concern for me as of late has been voicemail etiquette. It is tiring enough to wade through the hoard of telemarketers, but it is also equally frustrating to have to try to discern who is calling, why they are calling and where I can reach them. Good voicemail etiquette can help all of us be more productive.

People these days are being asked to do more with less, are feeling a lack of appreciation, are struggling with stresses outside of the workplace and the message often times is “just be happy you have a job.”

Try this some time. When in your email in-box next time, press the shift key and highlight every email by clicking on the first and then the last email with your mouse. Then press the delete key. It’s magic! Everyone of them disappear. You now have more hours to do other things.

When people tried to juggle messages through e-mail and/or chat with work they loss the same amount of IQ points as if they had missed an entire nights sleep. And more than double the four points loss through smoking marijuana!
