"People are definitely a company’s greatest asset. It doesn't make any difference whether the product is cars or cosmetics. A company is only as good as the people it keeps.”
– Mary Kay Ash
Okay, I am sure you have read this quote before, but people really are our greatest asset. I came across a study found in the 1998 Harvard Business Review which noted a 4% increase in employee satisfaction at retail giant Sears. That increase translated into greater customer satisfaction, which translated into more than $200 million in revenue that year.
Managers that make the effort to build relationships with their employees are able to harvest the power that comes from their greatest asset – people. What are some of the ways in which you build relationships with your employees? What are you doing to harvest the power?
