Why should leaders tell stories? Because stories can convey emotion, humor and learning. They are interesting, captivating and memorable. They can be inspiring, motivational and life changing. People relate to stories and generally love them.

In other words you can occasionally drop one and it will almost always bounce back, but drop the other four and they will suffer damage, possibly shatter.
In this particular episode she is working with an owner (Nikki) who is perhaps the worst leader you will ever see. Nikki is in denial that she is the problem, but clearly she is.
Every moment of my life from the first steps of my children, first haircuts, first loss tooth, first soccer goals, first dances and first driver licenses are gone. Past relationships, homes and communities we have lived in, youth teams I have coached, volunteer work I have done, employment I have had, and teams I have led; they are all memories. I can’t relive any of it, but I can embrace all of it.
With so much focus on winning at all costs in business and life in general, this video was refreshing. It says to me that most people are fundamentally good when it is all said and done. That there are more important things than the trophy and winning at all costs.
