Children Leading – Two Great Stories
There is so much good in the world! Fortunately with advances in technology we don’t have to go too far to find it.
I found the following two videos recently. They are great examples of children leading in multiple ways.
In a world where winning is stressed maybe too much. These two videos are refreshing.
Both involve Autistic children in which teammates make something very special happen. Putting behind the battle of competition for a time and creating a special moment that is far more significant than anything else that day.
The score of the game that day will be forgot, but the lessons and feelings of these kids won’t.
The first video is the fulfilling of a simple, but significant dream, of Ryan Ostrowski who has Autism and Cerebral Palsy. His brother’s team added him as an honorary player. Watch as his brother Michael leads him into the end zone.
It is also important to point out the reaction of his teammates and the other team, who were just as excited as his teammates. It’s hard to watch this video and not get teary eyed. Lots of leadership lessons. Can you name a few? Would love to hear your comments below.
The second video is one you may or may not have seen. It is not only miraculous, but very special as well.
It’s stories like this that make us all feel better. Each of us has the power to make a big difference in someone’s life. Who will you touch, impact or inspire today?
