The ability to effectively communicate is probably the most critical skill a leader can possess. Do it well, and a leader will gain respect and trust. People will naturally follow. Do it poorly and there are serious consequences.
I found this very funny video the other day. Communicating isn’t always that easy. And the sad thing is that you may not even know you are not communicating effectively until it’s too late.
Word choice, tone, clarity and timeliness are all factors in good communication. In this funny video gone bad you will see poor choices made around all four.
