I have two questions for you. First, are you a leader who asks for feedback from others on your performance? And second when you ask for it do you genuinely want it?
Feedback is a gift; a cliche right? But it is true. Receiving feedback, whether by someone else or naturally by choices we make is how we learned how to walk, talk and ride a bike. It is also how we learn to become a leader. However many of us have this crazy notion that self preservation is more important. As a result we rob ourselves of the precious opportunities to learn how to become better. Leaders really want feedback.
Here is a great quote I came across today.
"I have known a thousand scamps; but I never met one who considered himself so. Self-knowledge isn't so common."
