Should leaders be accountable for lack of performance on their teams? Can they blame someone else? Can they blame fate?
I came across this absolutely amazing video the other day on the power of positive reinforcement. I have always felt that one of the most immediate in results and effective things a leader can do is provide genuine and timely positive reinforcement.
What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see what others see? Or do you only see what you want to see? Answer that question honestly. Most of us only want to see what we think we see. Why? Because it can sometimes be painful to truly see what others see.
I have done this for the last few months and it has made a huge difference in my productivity. I love eating frogs! Try eating a frog; you will see that you like eating them as well.
A typical experience of a customer coming through their door would include the receptionist coming out from behind the desk and personally greeting them. Their name proudly displayed in the lobby welcoming them. And their favorite beverage presented to them. Such an experience would leave a lasting impact on any customer!
